Don’t Forget the Rice!
This month we’re going to tell you all about our rice. Sometimes thought of as a mere filler to the delights of great Indian foods and curries – we strongly disagree. Here at the Clay Oven Indian restaurant we offer a wide range of rice dishes – each of them have their unique magic but all of them taste great!
Boiled Rice
As plain as it gets – beautiful fragrant Basmati rice boiled and ready to add a subtle extra taste to whatever it accompanies.
Pilau Rice
The same Basmati rice – but coloured and flavoured by the stems of the Saffron crocus. A classic warm Indian flavour.
Special Rice
This dish may sound almost Chinese – with the rice being stir-fried with egg and peas. Trust us – it is a great Indian flavour and the peas add a wonderful burst of freshness.
Sabzi Pilau
A more substantial rice – with freshly cooked mixed vegetables added to make a more filling treat.
Mushroom Pilau
One for fungi lovers! There is no hiding what this dish is – this time mushrooms are added to the rice.
Ghee Bhat
One to get you drooling! The beautiful taste of buttery ghee, perfectly cooked sliced onion and even more Basmati rice – delightful.
